Karla Warkentin

Co-Founder & Chief Content Curator

Karla has always been interested in spiritual formation, how we work out our faith and become more like Jesus. She completed a Master of Divinity at Providence Theological Seminary, followed by studies in Christian Spiritual Formation through the Renovaré Institute and Christian Spiritual Direction with the Christos Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Karla discovered devotional writing in 2006 when she was invited to write for an NIV Women’s Devotional Bible. She loves the challenge of creating meaningful Biblical reflections that people can use to center their hearts on God each day.

When she’s not working on Good Ground, Karla usually spends time outside with her husband, two golden retrievers, and a flock of heritage-breed chickens.

Drew Warkentin

Co-Founder & Head of Technology

Drew is a Systems Design Engineer who is passionate about putting together enjoyable user experiences through writing clean and scalable software. He particularly enjoys working on the Good Ground app because it provides an outlet to serve God with his skills. 

Drew enjoys serving and living out his faith by using technology to help Christians. Whether it be running a church live stream video or building a devotional app, it all serves the same purpose - connecting us with God. 

Drew lives outside of Toronto, ON with his beautiful wife, Yetunde, and their Siberian Husky, Shiloh.

Amber Reesor

Graphic Designer & Visual Curator

Amber is a graphic designer who is passionate about the power of visual storytelling in evoking and communicating a particular message. She works on developing and curating all the visual elements used within the Good Ground app, including brand development and imagery within the app.

Amber finds her greatest joy in using the creative gifts God has given her to live out her faith in various ways. Whether challenging herself to build a fireplace in her living room or cooking up a new recipe in her kitchen for her family, she believes that using her hands to create something is her ultimate act of worship to the master creator. When she isn’t busy working on a project, she enjoys spending time with her husband and initiating craft time with her two-year-old daughter.

Victoria Jones

Art Curator

Victoria is a freelance editor and a writer on Christianity and the arts, blogging at ArtandTheology.org. She serves on the board of the faith-based nonprofit the Eliot Society and as art curator for the Daily Prayer Project, and she is a contributor to the Visual Commentary on Scripture and ArtWay. She is interested in exploring how art (of all disciplines, but especially visual art, poetry, and music) can draw us into a deeper love of God and neighbor.

Living with her husband in Central Maryland, Victoria enjoys experimenting with new food recipes, traveling, spending time at art museums, watching indie films, and curating Spotify playlists. Follow her on Twitter @artandtheology and Instagram @art_and_theology.

Marie Reesor

Content Curator

Marie loves creating fresh, modern ways to help people grow in their faith. She actively supports Good Ground’s content curation and daily devotional development, and thoroughly enjoys working alongside her mom on this project. 

Experiencing God’s presence most in nature and music, Marie likes going for walks, doing gratitude prayers, and spending time on her back porch rocking chair with her little son, watching the birds fly by and the wind rustle the leaves. She lives outside of Toronto, ON with her husband and son.

David Warkentin

Media Coordinator

David creates Good Ground’s lyric videos, coordinates video marketing production, and provides leadership and encouragement to the team. He is involved on several worship teams and also serves as an Elder at Westside Community Church in Morden, MB.

David also works full time as a Realtor with Morden Realty. When he’s not working he enjoys catching small fish, hunting, golfing, making music, and driving his motorcycle.
